About Us
Swift Spirit Life is an understanding that life is meant to be lived fully, not dreaded, avoided, numbed out or raced through.
While traditional methods of healing such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are necessary and important, too many stop there and are still not free of the triggers from life's major and minor but chronic traumas.
We then continue to make choices that repeat negative patterns that cause unnecessary suffering and pain. Once we understand how to use negative life experiences to our benefit we can move much more swiftly into and through other layers of growth and healing.
We can become positioned to see relationship problems, work stress and life in general from a bigger perspective and a positive self belief that we are loved, have value and purpose.
I am gifted in assisting people to process deep traumas, complex PTSD, and uncovering negative self beliefs that can manifest physically, emotionally and energetically.
I believe in creating safe and loving spaces. I welcome you with open arms, gentle tenderness, and a sweet intensity to help.
Being trained in a multitude of disciplines, I bring all my skills to each session, which allows for an individualized and spirit led event that can transcend space and time.
I look forward to working with you!

About Tina Marie Horkan PhD,
LCPC, RN, RP Level III
While I have strong and developed portfolio of career training and experience, I consider myself a spiritual artist dedicated to transforming lives through cognitive connections, universal energy, traditional and nontraditional modalities and spiritual experiences.
With a combination of REIKI, EMDR principles, and intuitive spiritual guidance, I help individuals and couples navigate life transitions, heal generational wounds that we may not be aware of, find inner and outer peace, learn conflict resolution techniques, transmute grief and loss, connect with your own inner soul, improve relationships starting with self, achieve greater life satisfaction, achieve self empowerment that comes from doing shadow work and healing that inner critic voice that strives to keep us safe but locked in unhappiness and stress.
I believe I am just the conduit for your healing and as such also provide actionable steps or practices that will continue to support ongoing healing after or in between sessions.
I address the physical focusing on nutrition, supplementation, sleep and stress mitigation techniques.
I explore the emotional pain looking for the underlying negative thinking patterns that drive the emotional states.

My Teachings
I teach about attachment styles and how your childhood can be affecting your love relationships today.
I teach about the neurobiology of the brain, the fight, flight, freeze, fawn or collapse that comes from the amygdala being triggered by seemingly little things in your day, or the underlying connection to your addictive patterns or addictions that you didn't know were driving them.
I teach about generational trauma and how it is strongly possible that what you are carrying today is the result of a inherited systems issue that predates even your life.
I then teach a holistic approach to addressing them along with active energy work. Each session becomes unique blend of education, energy healing, spiritual work, etc, layered with the one prior. Each time going deeper into the energy and spiritual fields as you want to allow.

Sweet Connections Creating Life
Wild Self Freedom
Intense Energy Release
Fear Awareness with Heart and Neurobiological Courage
Transformative Change
All too often we lose connection with spirit and then lose heart. Only we don't realize that is what has happened, and we blame other things like situations or relationships. We may become resentful and rigid. We may become overly risk taking or cavalier. We may become hopeless. And then we make choices that complicate or destroy our lives further.
We certainly have developed trust issues on some level. And we certainly don't believe the best in people. Nor do we hope, nor dream, nor believe anymore. We do not think about life after death let alone life outside of our body. Or we may be so disconnected from our body we don't even have an awareness of what our body is expressing or needs.
We spend a lot of time in our heads and the energy buzzing around there certainly doesn't allow for emotions let alone spiritual experiences.
We have lost connection with our rituals and ceremonies, with our sacred texts, with a deep knowing of something bigger than ourselves, and with a deep knowing of the biggest part of ourselves.
SPIRIT is the language of POSSIBLE. Spirit is POSSIBILITIES. Spirit speaks POSSIBLE.
SPIRIT IS I AM.
Spirit brings forth LIGHT and LOVE and LIFE.
Spirit asks questions like, "What if?" "Why?" "How" "Yes and ?" as well as "Who?"
Spirit is maintaining a curious mind, to achieve a greater, deeper, unfolding understanding and capacity for love and life.
Living life can be challenging and difficult. There are some seasons that are down right awful and the only way through is to just focus on physical survival.
But life should not stay in crisis mode or protection mode or survival modes only.
We can't grow into a fully differentiated self nor self actualization if we are stuck in repeat loops.
We are meant to get to the top of the hill, to an easier more enjoyable path for really good sections of life before tackling another mountain of growth.
Life is constantly changing and evolving, shifting and moving, transforming and transmuting. When we are in survival only, we can not flow with the changes that life presents us, until we are forced to change and that can be ugly.
Our world is changing even more rapidly and we may find ourselves overwhelmed and ill equipped, susceptible to negative influences and patterns of behaviors that do not support our best interests, nor our growth. If we stop growing we are dying. To prevent death we need to meet our needs for life.
After we've met our basic physiological and psychological needs, we STILL have a need for Self Actualization which is all about creativity and expression connected with your soul self. Fulfilling your divine life purpose becomes knowable and possible. When Life brings us to this level, we can still die from within if we do not step into our authentic self.

LIFE
My Story
I come from a mixed stock of genetics but relate primarily to my Irish roots, the Irish woodlands and waters, Irish spiritual mysticism and hopefully the Irish gift of story telling.
I was raised on a 5th generation dairy farm in Wisconsin, the second of 4 siblings, the daughter of a full blooded Irishman complete with the affinity for liquid spirits and the charisma that could charm the gold out of a leprechaun's rainbow. While I did not inherit that affinity nor charisma, I did inherit all the pain and shame that comes along with such an Irish mix.
Because there was, on a regular basis a lot of yelling, screaming, throwing of objects around a room or in the barn or around the machinery, I tended to retreat to the animals and the woodlands where I would dream of and try to connect to something outside of myself. I just knew that God existed and God was good. I just wasn't so sure that I was good enough, lovable enough, or smart enough.
All that set me on a path of having to prove myself over and over again. I was a dutiful daughter trying to live up to the expectations, hopes and dreams of a mother that was exasperated and embarrassed by her husband, who then turned her sights on making sure her children didn't do the same. Her voice became my inner critic and was relentless. By day I was the over achiever, by night I was the rebel, the unfit, the not enough, the overly stressed, depressed and suicidal young adult that so many of us end up being. I was lucky I didn't turn to drug or alcohol addiction but I sure acted like one.
Instead something in me knew to try to figure it out so I sought out initial counseling and Al Anon. It wasn't enough at the time and I ended up destroying my marriage, jumping immediately into another relationship with a raging alcoholic that I was just sure I could love into sobriety. That went south in a hurry and I ended up being a single mom of 4 children from there on out. I had wounded my children, repeated generational patterns, and was wildly emotional and so very needy. I turned to charismatic religion, had beautiful and profound mystical experiences and found some peace in my life for awhile.

To create unity, seek wholeness for yourself so that you may be present for others.

As I grew spiritually, I began to hear the shame and guilt messages even in this level of religion and could not stay. My spirituality grew to love the divine truths in all religious traditions but not the dogma and judgement that most practices develop. I grew to love all peoples, in all places and stages of life. Life is so precious and divine and as I connected with my deeper self, I could feel the possibilities of joy and happiness that life was supposed to be.
In providing for many of my children's friends, I found places in me that needed further healing and development and I engaged with EMDR for myself which became life changing. During all this time I was working on my Doctorate in Christian Counseling but could see that wouldn't be enough to help people on the level I wanted. I then became Level II EMDR trained.
My last position as an RN was in a residential treatment facility for treatment of dual diagnosis of addictions and mental health needs. I was able to teach all that I have learned, to others in recovery, bringing the missing pieces that AA and most treatment programs skim over or miss. I had found that I loved meeting people on deep levels, and working through the deepest questions of life.
With my mother's death last year, I was finally able to release myself from her expectations. I connected again with my deeper self and sought out another level of healing. Turning to REIKI this time, and experiencing contact with my father and mother's soul selves, I was directed to learn REIKI and become a Master Practitioner.
I have always had spiritual gifts and experiences and I feel I have come full circle in learning as much as I can from science, and spirituality, and the divine intersections and integral connections of both. I am so thankful for all the many people that have been there for me along the way and their investment in me. I am grateful for my teachers, for my family, for my friends and for my clients. Together we create, together we hurt and together we heal, transform, transmute and live in life, light and love.
I embrace the understanding that we are all connected to a soul self, a spiritual realm of many levels, a humanity network, and a unity on levels that we are not often very much aware of. I work from an understanding of these connections happening on a wavelength and energetic or quantum physics levels.
