What is Ceremony

A ceremony can be simple or complex.

A ceremony can be created for any time and any purpose.

Typically ceremonies are about designating that something with a spiritual connection is taking place.

Ceremony can be formal or informal.

It can include symbols or objects with meaning for the individuals being honored or designated.

The event can involve elements such as earth, wind, fire, water, metals.

The most important is the setting of intention, the holding of space and time, and the hearts of those involved.

What is Sacred

All life is sacred.

Meataphysics can give us an insight into the sacred geometry of life. But all too often we have come to live life according to an equation that doesn't allow for the beholding of creation right in front of our own eyes.

Our predecessors, not having access to the science of today could only behold the unexplainable as miraculous and magical.

Our peers of today having unlimited access to science and technology no longer behold anything as unexplainable and as such nothing seems as though it should be miraculous or magical let alone sacred.

But because we are spirit beings that have a physical body we sense and know things that while explainable metaphysically, we need to engage in practices that connect us to spirit, to universal creative energy so that we might be filled to overflowing lest we wither and die.

Because most religions lost sight of what was really intended we are rapidly losing our connection to ceremony and the power there in.

Sacred and Ceremonial

In our society we have lost touch with the sacred and the ceremonial. If we have a special event it has tended to become commercialized or surrounded with alcohol and drugs.

We minimize the power of what such events represent and ultimately lose the impact they could have had on our lives.

Special events are supposed to be special because they are not every day and we are supposed to feel uncomfortable.

Most family systems have so much baggage that the only way to survive a family gathering is to douse it in alcohol or not even attend.

We have also lost our expectations for traditions to even hold some semblance of grace.

I invite you to consider how to bring the sacred and the ceremonial back in to your life so that you may experience the power and intimacy such moments in life were intended to hold.

Contact me for more information on helping you create such an event or if you wish for me to preside over your event.

I have been honored to do so for weddings, adoptions, deaths and dis-solutions, birthdays, graduations and rites of passage for those coming of age.

ANCIENT WISDOM

Ancient civilizations have used ceremony to connect with spirit.

It is in the spirit that we can manifest on earthly planes.

It is in connecting through sacrament that we engage in alchemy and transmutation.

It is in the spirit that we can transcend earthly concerns and worries.

It is in the spirit that we have our being.
